Not Quite a Pumpkin Patch, But Almost

Off Seminary Road and Quaker there is a church that sells pumpkins every year. They use the money to go towards multiple fundraisers. I have gone there every year to pick out pumpkins so I decided to take Kylee this year to explore and choose her first pumpkin.
She did not understand the idea at first and kept walking back to the road, but quickly caught on.
After she caught on Kylee was all over the place. One of the volunteers mentioned how it seemed the two of us were always going opposite directions from one another.
After we checked out all of the pumpkins several times and she chose a favorite. She seemed to choose it because she enjoyed poking all of the bumps on the pumpkin.
We took our pumpkin home and enjoyed a pumpkin muffin on the ride home. (Kylee ate most of it, pumpkin muffin thief.)

Cowgirl Up

In continuation of Tiffany's dream come true weekend, we visited the stable that I work and ride at to pick something up and say hello to a few friends.

Kylee loved the opportunity to explore, get dirty, and look for mischief.

She made sure to find every nook and cranny and to explore it.

I was also very excited when she rode a pony (Rosie) all by herself. (Tears almost came to my eyes, almost.) Maybe all of the saturation in horses at such a young age is starting to pay off. Poor Kylee, she never had a chance to not like horses.

A Day at the Races

Two weekends ago I had a horse filled weekend. What more could a horse lover ask for? It was great. We were invited to attend a horse race out in Middleburg on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Of course I was not going to turn down this offer.
Kylee was somewhat excited about the horses, but her favorite thing was to walk right in the middle of private parties and to have random strangers hold her. Weird girl. She also loved showing off her cowgirl boots. She would tromp back and forth between everybody.
It was amazing to watch how much power those Thoroughbreds have and how fast they run.
Kurt made his first horse race bet (right before the gambling talk at Conference) and lost $10. He should have picked #7.

How do You Know Your Child is a Dog?

1) She willingly goes into a crate. She will even be happy to hang out in it for about 30 minutes while her mom takes care of other pups.
2) She laps up water from a watering dish. Her father is not too happy about this one.
3) She throws and fetches her own balls. She is self-entertaining.
4) She chews on and carries dog toys in her mouth. Another gross, but funny thing.
5) She pants like a dog. Especially when she sees a dog.
6) She eats leaves and flowers.
7) She chases cats. Poor Sadie, she always has to keep an eye out.

I'm Too Sexy

I don't think too much can be said to describe these pictures.

If the Shoe Fits, Wear It

Kylee is OBSESSED with shoes!
She will start to cry if you do not put her shoes on her once she sees them. She will get upset if you do not get them on fast enough. She will get upset if she brings you shoes and you do not put them on. (Even if she brings you three or four shoes and you only have two feet). Lately she has been trying on our shoes and trying to walk around the apartment in them. This can lead to some tears as well if she can't get them on right or walk without falling.
(I think we have a perfectionist on our hands who does not have much patience.)
