Virginia in the Fall

I do love that there are FOUR very distinct seasons in Virginia. I will admit that I am not a fan of the summer, especially when it is really hot and humid. However, I do LOVE the springs and falls here. Right now where I am from, (Rexburg), is suffering from 9 inches of snow in one day and -4 degree weather. Count me out of that. Why again am I traveling there in 3 weeks? Must be for family, friends, and of course my horse.
Anyways, I love the fall here. Since there are so many trees everywhere, this means there are so many leaves that are changing colors and falling. I love walking or driving down the road and seeing all of the many different colors. There are definitely going to be things that I am going to miss about the east, and Virginia in particular when Kurt graduates and we move from here.
(These pictures were taken during one of our dog walks. Just could not help stopping and taking a picture before the leaves had all fallen off.)

Scarecrow Kurt

Meet scarecrow Kurt. Instead of being stuffed with leaves, he is stuffed with his own clothing.
Kurt likes to call this his pile of glory. He states that if he has to deal with my horse, I get to deal with this pile of glory. When we got married though, I already had the horse so he knew the packaged deal he was getting himself into. The pile of glory had not existed, so I had no idea that I was not only marrying Kurt, but a 3 month in the making, pile of clothing.
I will state at the beginning, (Kurt made me), that I have helped in maintaining this pile by adding new clothes after I do laundry. To my defense, Kurt first created this pile back in August when he returned from Idaho. I place clean clothes there instead of having to sleep with them at the end of the bed for weeks at a time, until Kurt has finally worn everything in the pile.

What mysteries did I find when I made this scarecrow? Thankfully nothing too scary. I found boardshorts, beach towels, luggage straps, and a random zipper just hanging out by itself.

So is there an R.I.P. date for Scarecrow Kurt in the near future? I sure hope so.

P.S. It will be interesting to see Kurt's reaction if he actually sees that I posted this online. Uh oh...

Streak Free Shine

I could have made a Windex commercial today thanks to Kylee. I am just going to have to ask for the bank's security tapes so I can make some money. (Not really going to, but I did think about it.)
As Kylee and I were leaving the bank, I walked through the door first and held it open for her. I looked away, and the next think I heard was a loud bang and then a screaming cry. What did I find? One Kylee knocked to the ground, crying. Everyone in the bank was looking at me and I could not help but smile and laugh because I realized what Kylee had done.

To the right and left of the main doors there are windows that go from the floor to the ceiling. Someone had done such a great job on cleaning them that Kylee walked straight into without realizing it was not the door entrance. Oh, good times!
