SUN!!

I forgot how great it can feel to walk outside and have the sun on your back. It is amazing how much the sun can lift your spirits. Kylee and I have tried to take advantage of the warmer weather and sunshine over the past couple of days. I am just hoping the oncoming rain doesn't stay for forever and that the weather will turn nice again. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

I will update soon with pictures of our last couple weeks of activities.

One Crazy Girl

It's crazy to think that Kylee is now seven months old! Here comes the age old saying: Time sure flies! It's so true though; I am sure all can relate.

It has been fun watching more and more of her personality come out. She is one funny girl that cracks herself up, plus me and her dad. One night during dinner, her and I just laughed at one another the whole time.

Don't get me wrong, there are times that I am ready to go crazy and counting down the minutes until her dad gets home to pass her of to him, but she has definitely brought a lot of joy into our lives.

Love you little crazy girl!

There's No Place Like Home....

But Alexandria and Washington D.C. are feeling pretty close to it right now with all the white winter wonderland that surrounds us.

We were warned that a storm was coming that would dump 1-2 feet of snow, but I was still skeptical. Well, Saturday morning proved me very wrong when we could barely find our car.

It was fun to take Kylee out in the snow and let her experience it. She didn't mind it unless she got too wet and cold.

This was the first time we have had to actually shovel 2 1/2 ft. of snow off and from around our car. These are the times when neighbors are forced out and get to know one another. I enjoyed meeting people that I would never have probably met otherwise. The bad side, supposedly another storm is on its way Tuesday/Wednesday.

Horses, Horses, Horses!

During Christmas break I was able to ride my horse more than I expected. I was also able to take Kylee riding as well.

I know, I am a crazy mom to have my 5-month-old child on a young horse, but that's me. :)

Storm Warning and City People

So this is what happens in D.C. and surrounding areas when the news puts out a Winter Storm Warning. There is supposed to be more than a foot of snow this weekend. We will see. Most of the checkout lines were towards the other side of the store. If you are looking for milk, meat,or fresh produce....good luck. People are getting aggressive by stealing things from you and running over you with their carts if you don't move fast enough. (This happened to me a couple of times).

2 Minutes of Service = $150

So this morning started out wonderful with locking Kylee in the car along with my purse, keys, and cell phone. How stupid do I feel? VERY!!!

Our car locks automatically once you start it. Stupid car! Well, I forgot to push unlock before I closed the door while I was cleaning the snow off the car. First thought that came to my mind: break the window. So glad I didn't follow through.

I asked a neighbor for a phone and phone book. He ended up giving me a boost up to my second story porch to find out the back door was locked. Did I mention this neighbor just moved in. (Welcome to the neighborhood dude. He might be contemplating his move here). Thank goodness for friends that live close by (thank you Brandie). A locksmith was called and came quickly.

He just had to insert a little pump to jar the door enough to insert a metal stick to roll down the window. Then I unlocked the door from there. Such a valuable service, especially when your child is in there, but so darn expensive. Talk about a mark up.

I will now be looking into getting a spare key that is not with Kurt in Washington D.C.

More Poop.....

So what is worse than having to pick up poop with leaves because you run out of bags??

Looking out your front windshield to noticing thick, brown liquid running across your window and down the hood of your car. Then, realizing that it's poop leaking from a bag you placed beneath your windshield wipers and knowing you are going to have to touch that bag in order to throw it away.

How to rid your car of poop: throw snow on the car.
Did it work very well? Not very well.
Is Kurt going to kill me if he finds out what that brown stuff on the car is? YES!! :)
Now not only does he get to complain about horse poop in the car, but he gets the great bonus of dog poop too! YEAH!!
