Shiny New Tricycle

So Kylee is spoiled and received an early birthday present from her Grandpa and Grandma Sandlow-Parrish (my parents). I think I was more excited than her when it arrived.

We have been able to take it out in the afternoons and evening for walks around our apartment complex and Kylee seems to love the break from her stroller.

She is such a funny baby. Instead of sitting upright on the seat she loves to slouch to one side and just let it all hang loose. Good thing for the harness on the trike, otherwise she would probably fall out. Lazy little girl.

Enjoying Summer

Kylee and I have been trying to be creative with all the hot weather we have been getting here on the East Coast.
Other than dog walking and running the necessary errands we have tried to stay indoors. We have made trips here and there to the pool, but we can't live in it 24/7, which we would like.

One of Kylee's creative outlets is coloring with her markers. I still don't think she completely gets the concept of drawing on the paper and not herself.

We have also enjoyed meeting friends at the mall to walk around, let the kids play on the escalator, and enjoy some delicious frozen yogurt. (Totally would recommend the new frozen yogurt place in the food court of the Pentagon City Mall.)

Nice Doggy

You make do with what you got. At least she doesn't know anything is wrong with this. This probably also answers the question why Kylee sometimes smells like a dog.

Why is Kylee trapped in a dog crate? It prevents her from getting into mischief, keeps her from falling down four flights of stairs, and I always know exactly where she is: eating snacks in a dog crate. Yummy!

Everyone always tells me that I am going to have some interesting stories to tell Kylee about our dog walking days. I am guessing this will probably make it on the top ten list.

Oh Crap...Literally

What do you get when one baby is running amuck around the apartment with no diaper? One pile of poop on your rug! Yummy! You think I would have learned after the peeing accident at the pool wouldn't you? Nope, guess not.

Kylee had spaghetti for dinner and that led to one child covered in noodles and tomato sauce from head to toe. After rinsing her in the sink and stripping her diaper, I let her run off while I collected a new diaper. Well, that was just enough time for one little squeak to get into some mischief. As I was coming out of her room I was greeted to the image of Kylee, once again squatting, but this time poop was the lovely gift that was left for me. Oh joy...

So sorry that my last several entries have been all about the random, and usually gross things that Kylee has done. I am sure most can relate to these situations though and they can crack you up.

Happy Father's Day!

We just wanted to say Happy Father's Day to all of our fathers, biological and non-biological. Thanks for always being willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or offering some words of wisdom.

I Survived!

So total lame fear, but I have been afraid to babysit. I just had this image in my mind that it would be so scary and that it would be so hard. Why? Still have no idea.

But anyways, I watched our friend's son for a little bit the other night and once Kylee was added in the mix, it was hilarious to watch. The two totally played off one another and whatever one had, the other wanted. (They both have one another's snack cups.) After hanging out with Liam, Kylee tried to run and jump like Liam. She would get off the ground a little bit just to land on her butt.

So lesson learned: I can babysit and still come out in one piece and alive in the end. But don't read between the lines and think this is an open invitation. :)

The Boogeyman

Want to know what Kylee dreams about in the middle of the night? Apparently vicious corn on the cobs that can jump out at you at any given time. You gotta watch your back, otherwise, they might just get you.

Kylee has had corn on the cob once before and actually was quite a fan of it, but not today. I placed it on her high chair and showed her how to eat it with mine. She just poked it, whined, looked at me, and then poked it again. Anytime that it would roll she would kind of move away from it. It was pretty funny to watch. Weird girl.
