Bubbles

I do not know why Kurt has the magic touch when it comes to bubbles, but for some reason my bubbles baths just cannot compare to his. My suds just look pathetic compared to his mounds of bubbles.

Kylee has been loving her bubble baths and will try to climb in with all of her clothes on if you don't cath her fast enough.

Kurt has shown her how to place bubbles on her face and head and to act like she is Santa Clause: "ho, ho, ho!"

Movie Buddies

Yep, someone might have been a little brainwashed by their mother. Oops. Kylee has been into gathering buddies to watch movies with her lately. She will gather toys or stuff animals that are similar to the movie she is watching.

Example: She gathered all of her horses to watch Spirit with her.

Another two movie favorites are Finding Nemo and Cars. She will gather her Nemo fish and cuddle with him or grab all her cars and drive them on the couch and table. Funny girl

Dog Walking Assistant

I will have to admit to enjoying the few times when Kurt is able to stay home and watch Kylee. It is amazing how much faster and more efficient I can be dog walking without my little assistant. But I know it just would not be quite the same without her.

Most of our dogs seem to miss her and are more than willing to lay some wet kisses on her face when she returns.

Without her who would be so willing to walk and splash in the rain?

Get everyone's extra energy out after our walks?

Show the dogs how to use their new toys and houses?

Remind me and the dogs to look at and enjoy the smallest things: flower petals, birds, bees, leaves, etc.?

Not afraid to lay down with the dogs when it is time for a break after a long day of work?

Making sure every dog receives personal one-on-one feeding, even if it means feeding each piece of food by hand?

What is Kylee going to do after we are done dog walking? Help mom pack I guess!

Easter Eggs

So as some friend would say, it is sad when you update your dog walking blog more often than your own family blog. Well, I will try to catch up again and stay up to date. Here goes nothing!

Last weekend we decided to color some Easter eggs. We let Kylee tell us what colors she would like her eggs to be. (I was not up to Kylee dying herself and everything around her with egg dye so she just got to direct us.)

Kurt as usual had fun experimenting and trying to see how many unusual colors he could come up with. Brad even joined in with us towards the end.

Here are our masterpieces! Kurt was the most proud of his "gold" egg.

My Arch Nemesis!

So this "wonderful" pile of glory (as Kurt states) has been my arch nemesis since we have been married. I had no idea what I was getting myself into before I sealed the deal because this "little" pile had never existed while we were dating. Was someone trying to be a little sneaky here?

For the past four months I have had the urge to:
     a) throw these clothes away
     b) throw them over the porch railing
     c) hide them until Kurt came to the point of having nothing to wear
     d) All of the above, along with a few other things!

 

I am glad to say that I did not give into any of these thoughts, no matter how instantly gratifying they may have been. Many of you might be asking why did I not just pick up the pile long ago myself? The answer would be because of my very stubborn, my way or the highway personality. I did not want Kurt thinking he had the benefits of a maid service to clean up his clothes on a regular basis. Yep, I am mean.

Well, it took a 22-month-old little girl to actually get me to help clean this up. While doing laundry the other day Kylee got really into the moment and started picking up things from the glory pile. I figured if she is going to help, why not?

I am happy to state that we currently do not have a new pile of glory and I am hoping it stays that way. Otherwise, I might have to resort to option A, B, C, or even D!

Cheeser!

Can we say cheesy? I think Kylee is starting to hit that phase now that when you try to take a picture she is going to either make a big cheesy smile or walk straight into the camera so everything is a blur.

Guess I am going to have to start being more sneaky about candid moments from now on.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

So as many of you know there are a lot of things about to happen this summer for us and we were still not knowing where or what we were going to do. Things are still up in the air to a degree, but I finally could not handle the uncertainty anymore and made some decisions.

Kylee and I are going to be officially leaving May 17th (cat included) and flying to Idaho. We are looking for a relatively cheap apartment to rent close to Kurt's parents for the summer (not real cost effective, but I need my space). Kurt will join us hopefully in June (if he has not gotten all his clinical requirements passed off before). We will have the baby in Idaho and then hope to be moving mid-August for our next great two year adventure. Options in Montana and New Mexico are looking good at the moment, but nothing is set in stone yet.

So that is pretty much the plans for the moment. Still amazing how fast things can change though.
